Ted Grant
Ted Grant (1913-2006) was most famously the political editor of the Militant. From his earliest youth in South Africa, Ted Grant dedicated his life to the struggle for the emancipation of the working class. Moving to Britain in 1934 to seek new horizons, within a decade he had become the key theoretician of the Trotskyist movement.
After the degeneration of the Militant, Ted went on to found the Socialist Appeal and the International Marxist Tendency, which served to rescue the real traditions, programme and methods of the past. This was likely the most important achievement of his life: preservation of this unbroken thread of ideas.
